A coming-of-age film about two queer Guyanese boys who are navigating their feelings in a homophobic society.

About the Director

Rae Wiltshire, describes himself as a storyteller and student of the arts. Like most artists, imposter syndrome is always on his doorsteps. He has come to realise that it probably will follow him his whole life, but he cannot stop creating. Rae has won several awards in playwriting, including Best New Guyanese play at Guyana’s National Drama Festival in 2015. His short story and play has been published in the local literary magazine The Guyana Annual. And he recently won the Guyana Prize for Literature in Drama, 2022, for his play Don’t Ask Me Why. Guyana’s highest award for literature. His short story collection, Adults, was also shortlisted for best book of fiction in 2022.

 

 

Nickose Layne, is a lover, an artist and a madman. He possesses a keen interest in using the performing arts for connection, discovery and development. As an advocate for young people, his philosophy is that youths should not wait to become the future (leaders), their importance to the world is in the present. One year before graduating the University of Guyana with a Diploma in Marketing, Nickose joined the Theatre Guild as a Thespian. In 2012 he also graduated from the National School of Theatre Arts and Drama with a diploma in Theatre Arts. This put his creative and professional endeavours on equal grounds. He has worked in corporate capacities as a Coordinator for Marketing, Events and Social Management on different projects.

Presently Nickose is a Radio Broadcaster, Thespian, Filmmaker and Programme Analyst.
