Synopsis

A short film about the first Bomba Ancestral returning to the ocean at sunset. Organized by Sheila Osorio and Samuel Lind in Loíza, Puerto Rico where the river meets the sea. We gathered on the beach. The moon was full and we could feel the connection to the four elements. The FIRE that purifies, WATER, AIR and EARTH. Honoring all of our ancestors from whom we inherited this beautiful dance of Bomba.

BOMBA ANCESTRAL, will screen as part of the feels program.

Eli Jacobs-Fantauzzi ,is an internationally-recognized and award-winning filmmaker. He is the founder of “Fist Up Tv”, a media platform uplifting and telling stories from communities across the world who refused to be silenced.

His work has circulated through National Broadcast: Free Speech TV, Teaching Channel, and PBS. Online he has created content for remezcla, okayafrica, TIDAL, and VIBE. Eli is the founder of Cine Solar Rodante, a solar cinema project run entirely on solar power.

He is the co-founder of Defend PR, a multimedia project designed to document and celebrate Puerto Rican creativity, resilience, and resistance. His last film “Bakosó Afrobeats of Cuba,” received national broadcast on World Channel / PBS. He is currently touring his film “We Still Here PR,” which has won festivals around the country and across the globe. He is also curating his 14th Annual #FistUpFilmFestival in the Bay Area California. His dedication to his craft is deeply connected to his commitment to social justice and the belief in the transformative power of film.
